The family also likes to mix things up, traveling sometimes by air, other times by a chartered yacht, and even by motorcycle when attending local events.

Last year, Naomi Loomis and her husband rode their custom choppers from their home in Orlando, Florida to Daytona Beach to take in Bike Week 2013.

That particular event was the 72nd of its kind, held between March 8th and 17th. Riders were able to enjoy a wide range of activities including motorcycle themed events, exhibitions, and races.

Most major manufacturers were there to debut new models and exhibit popular products. Harley Davidson allowed riders to ride the new Breakout and Indian Motorcycle introduced its new Thunder Stroke 111 V-Twin in an event hosted by Mike Wolfe of American Pickers. Darkside Scientific took the opportunity to unveil its new line of electroluminescent paint.

Over the course of the week, Naomi Loomis and other attendees were able to take part in events such as:

  • Rat’s Hole Custom Bike Show: This prestigious competition took place for the 42nd consecutive Bike Week, awarding builders handmade trophies for the best custom bikes.
  • Willie’s Tropical Tattoo Old School Chopper Show: A different kind of custom chopper competition, contestants in this event travel from small shops and garages across the country. Competitors are more likely to reinvent old parts than order new parts out of a catalog.
  • 2013 Bike Week Raffle: The 2013 Official Bike Week Motorcycle, which was a 2012 Street Glide customized by Harley-Davidson of Daytona, was appraised at $35,000. One lucky winner got to ride this bike home.
  • Annual Coleslaw Wrestling Competition: One of the more offbeat events during Bike Week, this competition pits twelve female contestants against each other in a ring covered with shredded cabbage. The winner walked away with $500.

Naomi Loomis is a frequent traveler, visiting locations across the United States and overseas with her husband and their kids.

She has traveled by air, boat, yacht, and even motorcycle. Additionally, she enjoys attending motorcycling events in and around Florida with her husband.

Earlier this year, Stan and Naomi Loomis attended Biketoberfest 2013 in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Held for the 21st time, this year’s Biketoberfest event occurred October 17-20th, providing thousands of riders with an opportunity to take part in motorcycling themed activities throughout the city.

Attendees were able to enjoy the area’s famous beaches and perfect weather while riding to the next motorcycle show or rally. Additionally, Naomi Loomis and other attendees were able to complete guided tours and participate in special biker themed activities. Events included racing on Daytona International Speedway, listening to live music, and viewing displays from major manufacturers showing off the latest and greatest models of popular bikes. Each event took place in one of three locations throughout the city:

Main Street: Visitors began at the welcome tent, where they were able to learn more about the weekend’s events. Naomi Loomis and other attendees then sampled famous food, listened to live music, and watched bikers arrive throughout the day at restaurants such as Dirty Harry’s, Humphrey’s & Son, and Boot Hill Saloon.

Beachside: This region hosts the Boardwalk Classic Bike Show, a competition that awards trophies and cash prizes to the riders with the best looking bikes. Attendees were also able to relax on the beach, eat fresh seafood, or tour the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse.

Beach Street / Fairview Avenue / Ballough Road: Multiple motorcycle exhibits were set up on these three streets, including BMW Ducati Triumph of Daytona, Harley-Davidson’s Museum Store, Carl’s Speed Shop race museum, and ROAR (a special event tailored exclusively to female bikers).
